open

i wanted to embody freedom in this piece. freedom of the mind

Victorian display

This was my first attempt at photo shop. i just wanted to capture beauty out of this experiment.

awkward bird taxidermy

i wanted to take my 2D awkward birds and bring them to the 3D realm. for me this piece could be interpreted in several ways. i originally found the idea through the feeling of being degraded by the male gender, and seeing that in my peers on a day to day basis. essentially being put up on display for looks.

The only thing stopping yourself, is you.

This idea came to me while worshiping to "break every chain".
this piece was in resemblance of being binded by chains, being binded by you.

The awkward cage bird

In this season of my life i found art to be a prominent role in my relationship with god. the awkward cage bird series all started with me in prayer. apart of what god does for me is reveal beauty in places where i dont see it. he revealed a picture of a cage bird with antlers during this session of prayer. after falling in love with the image he had shown me, i realized it was a self portrait of what he wanted to release me of. this awkward cage bird was a depiction of me as this beautiful life caged by her insecurities, her awkwardness. in the process of making this i came to take a new meaning of what the bird really was. this birds awkwardness-antlers, was unique and was what made it/her more beautiful.
